About the artist:

Rudolph Distler is an autodidact. From 1961 to 1964 he learned the trade of a lithographer in Ulm and then worked as a potter.

Distler and his wife moved to Praiano on the Gulf of Salerno in 1970. After eight years, he moved back to Germany and settled in Aschau in Chiemgau. Since 1992 he has been the artistic director of the Kunstverein art and culture Hohenaschau. In 1995 he founded the Summer Academy Hohenaschau.
