The spirit and drive of a man who has truly experienced life emanates from the work of Sacha Chimkevitch. Born August 17, 1920 in Paris, Chimkevitch began studying architecture at the Beaux Arts in Paris, but studies were interrupted when he was called to serve his country and taken prisoner of war for five years. In 1945 he continued his studies with art courses at the Beauxs Arts in Paris, and Le Grande Chaumiere. He is well known as one of...

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
