Stanley Bate
Bate, born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1903, received his art education at Watkins Institute, Nashville; the Art Students League, New York; and in France and Switzerland. He and his wife Emilie lived in Claverack, New York from the late forties until his death in 1972. His work was widely exhibited throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s.
