About the artist:

Born in 1934 in the city of Tlaxcala. He began his artistic training at the National School of Plastic Arts in 1966, remaining there until 1970. He continued his studies at the College of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1973 the French government awarded him a scholarship that allowed him to work until 1976 at the Atelier of William Hayter in Paris. In 1976 he received a silver medal in the Hall of the School of Fine Arts in Bourges, France. In 1977 he was awarded the second prize of the International Painting "niche" in Paris, and a diploma from the school of Bourges said. In 1970 he made his first exhibition. Since then it has formed a comprehensive history of individual samples, and close to fifty, which included presentations in France, the United States and Japan. In 1976 he participated in the Triennial of Engraving Granche, Switzerland, and in 1979 at the Festival of Engraving Asilah, Morocco. In 1982 in the exhibition "L'Amerique Latine in Paris, France. In early 1992, his list of participation in collective exceeded the sixties. It works in Mexico and frequently in France, making lithography, etching and metal Mixografía, apart from his painting. He identifies with the art of Oaxacan artists who have sought in myths and customs of the substance of his subjects, Romulo also tries to capture essences of a primitive culture. His early paintings and engravings show a creative process that emanates from both intuition and imagination as the attachment to the estate atavicas and animal nature.
