Titina Maselli (Rome from 1924 to 2005), with a strong personality, author of works of Pop Art and anticipatory hyperrealism, is the protagonist of the exhibition staged in the Foyer of the Auditorium Parco della Musica. Twelve great paintings in the exhibition, the most significant of those made in the late sixties and the nineties, during the most important and fruitful of his career. All the works we discuss the city and its protagonists, often alienating illuminated by night. The exhibition of works by Titina Maselli is part of the artistic program of the Auditorium, which wants the general public the great contemporary Italian artists. Produced in cooperation with the Archives of the Roman School, the show is a tribute to the painter to a year after his death, and anticipates the major retrospective to be held at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. Titina Maselli began to devote himself to painting as a child, encouraged by her father, art critic Hercules Maselli. Thanks cultural atmosphere that reigns in the family knows artists, intellectuals and prominent critics. During the German occupation of the house Maselli is also a lot of wanted militants and Jews fleeing the Nazis and Fascists. Tito wrote pamphlets and articles on '"Unity" illegal. In 1945 she married the artist Toti Scialoja. In 1948, twenty-four years, he exhibited for the first time his works at the Obelisk Gallery in Rome, presented in the catalog by the writer Corrado Alvaro. Since the mid-forties his works begin to explore the territories of the contemporary city and its inhabitants that move in the places of the community, streets, stadiums ... In 1950 he participated for the first time at the Venice Biennale, which is also present in 1954, 1956, 1964, 1984, and in 1951 he exhibited at the Art Quadrennial of Rome. The following year he left for New York, where he remained until 1955, fascinated by the city, and where it sets up two solo exhibitions at Gallery Durlacher Bros. From 1955 to 1958 he lives in Austria, where, in a state of deliberate isolation, focuses on color rendition. Returning to Rome, where he remained until the late sixties, he exhibited in several prestigious galleries, presented in a catalog by eminent critics, as Duilio Morosini, Renato Barilli, Henry Crispolti. Titin in 1970 he moved to Paris and he is also the set design, designing sets and costumes for works by Stravinsky, Milhaud, Miller, Beckett, Pirandello, Schiller and Bruchner. In subsequent years, until his death in 2005, he exhibited his works in many galleries in various Italian and European cities, by major critics. The painting of Titina Maselli, while depicting contemporary reality, can not be called a realist. The figures and bodies often seem to come out of the picture and strident colors, making his works a strong visual impact. The artist's painting is dynamic, "fibrillating," wants to transmit energy and vitality.
