This bronze sculpture is modeled after the "Ombra Della Sera", an Etruscan statue found in the town of Volterra, that is estimated to have been created in the third century B.

C. Many comparisons have been drawn between the Ombra Della Sera and the work of modern artist Albert Giacometti, for the similarly shaped figures with elongated thin bodies.
