About The Artist: Walter Spitzer

Walter Spitzer was born in Cieszyn, Poland. A Holocaust survivor, he made his first drawing in a concentration camp with a burnt stick on an empty cement bag. Walter Spitzer has lived and worked since WWII in France, where he studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. Walter Spitzer has achieved great renown as a painter and printmaker.
