About the artist:

Wilhelm Woernle (or Wörnle) was born in Stuttgart and died in Vienna, to which he moved around 1876. He trained at the Stuttgart School of Art. He is remembered for original etchings and watercolours, and also for interpretative etchings after the work of other artists.
