About the artist:

In the local community, William “Bill” or “Mr. Scolere” is probably best known as the art teacher and department head for 26 years at Gorham High School. He continues to instruct at the White Mountains Community College. In the community of artists, he is much more widely known, having received thirteen awards and participated in ninety-five exhibits throughout the northeast. He has participated in ten shows at the prestigious Currier Museum of Art in Manchester. His work appears in two permanent collections in Pennsylvania and one in the Coos County Courthouse. Mr. Scolere’s principle body of work is in drawing, painting, and printmaking. He says, “I view myself as an artistic draftsman. My work consists of plays on the poetry of existence and experience, balancing the harmonies and contrasts of my visual environment; which, for the past thirty-nine years, has been the North Country of New Hampshire.”
