About the artist:

Wojtek Kowalczyk was born in 1960 in Krakow Poland. From 1979 to 1986 he studied at the Krakow Polytechnic University and graduated with a diplma in Architecture. Between 1986 and 1989 he worked at the Istiue of Preservation of Historical Monuments run by the Polytechnic University. Since 1989 Wojtek has worked as an independent artist. In 1990 he created a series of graphics based on vintage images of saltminers in Wieliczka near Krakow. In 1996 he presented his experiments with new graphics technology using steel plates where he has obtained unforgettable silver moonlinght impressions. His work respects traditional craftsmanship and honesty towards art. Pictures that the artist creates are untitled, reflecting his own metaphorical visions of images based on his intuition, emotions, and logic. Executed with precision and attention to detail they render the artist's vision of life, love, our constant striving towards achieving goals and fascination with material objects. Wojtek Kowalczyk has presented his works in exhibitions throughout Poland. He has had three exhibitions in Germany and on October 2008 his graphics were displayed in Bergano, Italy.
