After living in Berlin and Dresden, he went to Paris and studied with Pierre Bonnard and Édouard Vuillard at the Académie Julian. In 1913, he returned to Berlin and joined the Free Secession and exhibited his work at Gallery Fritz Gurlitt, amongst others. At the time of National Socialism, Röhricht’s art was regarded as degenerate. Numerous works from the period before 1945 were destroyed in the war or are missing since then. In 1945, he settled in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and joined the New Munich Secession. Röhricht has created primarily watercolors, featuring landscapes, industrial motifs and portraits, which he painted mostly in the wet-on-wet technique. (cko)
