About the artist:

Yves Millecamps was born in 1930 in Armentieres (North). Former student of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he lives and works in Poissy and Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Yves Millecamps studied at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris where he graduated in 1954. He made​his first in 1955 in Aubusson tapestry in 1960 and exhibited objects of worship in the 10th room of Sacred Art. Comes after several years in various pictorial and plastic, it runs in 1963 his first painting in abstract geometric line that will continue, therefore, to deepen a steady evolution. In 1966 he abandoned painting in oil painting acrylic best suited to his writing. In 1967, i) describes his first major embossed stainless steel. Painting is his preferred activity) has also created many prints, more than a hundred tapestry, large wall reliefs and sculptures in metal and medals. From 1956 to 1975, he creates tapestries woven in Aubusson mainly but also in national and Gobelins Beauvais and Portalegre, Portugal. From 1963 he also devoted himself to painting. His work is related to the current geometric abstraction. He makes serigraphs, steel sculptures, decorations for the Sèvres manufactory. On 27 June 2001, Yves Millecamps was elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts in chair Jean Dewasne, who died in 1999. He chairs the Academy in 2008.
