About the artist:

Graham Anderson’s painting practice has explored the intersections of image, material, and technique to create and distort illusionistic space.  Anderson’s signature technique is a mixture of pointillist buildup and broad, waxy brushstrokes, which describe a metaphysical existence of matter and space in two dimensions. Representations of silhouetted bodies or still life fruits and cabinets are constructed from optically charged fields of dots, while his compositions are divided into rectilinear areas that could be shelves, niches, rooms, or flat walls. With influences as varied as vintage commercial magazine illustration, trompe l’oeil effect, and the Pattern and Decoration movement of the 70s and 80s, Anderson has created a unique aesthetic in his work that is both visually complex and intellectually rewarding.
