In 1958, her parents, who were both graduates of the Maryland Institute College of Art, found a perfect spot for their dream house on a hilltop with picture windows facing sunsets and fascinating patterns of patchy fog in the lovely Belfast Valley. Growing up in this area of lush pastures and farmland, fox hunt country and steeplechase courses, Jill fell in love with the land as a young girl, and explored it intimately while hiking, biking and horseback riding. Her art is her way to pay tribute to all who have worked so hard to preserve it’s lovely rural beauty And to stay in touch with those wonderful and memorable experiences. The artist also paints during her travels to the Chesapeake Bay and many other scenic destinations.
