Rebecca Hardin

About the artist:

Whether she is painting a landscape or portrait, she captures the play between shadow and light, essential to her dynamic compositions. Her bright infusion of color and mastery of brush strokes has enabled her to paint not only some of the most beautiful gardens and seascapes in her tempestuous style. Her most recent endeavor has been to paint a series entitled "Important Woman of the Twentieth Century." Portraits of internationally renowned figures such as Rose Kennedy, the matriarch of the Kennedy family, commissioned by Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver, was the first in the series. Created as a special painting for the Rose Kennedy Memorial Award, Ms. Hardin created "Roses for Rose", a poignant depiction of the legendary woman and her family. Recently hanging in the United Nations, the painting is now a permanent part of the Kennedy Family Library. The second painting in the series was an homage to the late Princess Diana. Entitled "The English Rose," the painting depicts the princess and her two children, William and Harry, in one of Hardin's signature gardens. "Mother Theresa" and "Aung Sun Suu Kyi," are future subjects for Hardin's "Important Women of the Twentieth Century" series. In addition to Hardin's work being exhibited in major shows in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Taipei, London and Paris, her work has been collected by business and government leaders and members of the film and television communities. Currently represented by over 75 of the most prestigious galleries throughout the world, her work consistently sells out and her reputation as a laudable artist has solidified. Ms. Hardin has enjoyed enduring success in Japan where she is revered and most highly venerated as one of the finest artists of the decade. Her most recent show in Japan grossed over one million dollars in sales during a 12 day tour of the country. A follower of the Zen philosophy that mind and body are at one with nature, Rebecca Hardin lives true to the teachings in our modern society. An avid sportswoman, Hardin is a professional scuba diver travelling to the Caribbean or South America between shows. She lives in the countryside with her husband, tending to her gardens that have inspired many of her exquisite paintings. A woman of mystery and infinite artistic talent, like Coco Chanel, she does it all.
